The houses
Step 1 – purpose, participants and duration
First, decide what the meeting is intended to achieve – strategy, budget or team development – how many of you there are and how many nights you’ll need. A management team of 6–12 can cover most things in two nights: arrival with a group lunch, the most difficult decisions on the morning of day two, and a wrap-up on day three. The purpose dictates the venue: a private room for sensitive discussions, or a large table where everyone can sit together.
Step 2 – the right house for 6–12 people
With 8–12 guests, everyone gets their own bedroom at The Skiers Lodge in Lindvallen (8 guests, 4 bedrooms, ski-in/ski-out), Villa Åsstigen (12 guests, sauna, cross-country ski trail right outside the door) or Stenlodgen at Sälfjällstorget (15 guests, outdoor hot tub). If you’d like single rooms for a larger group, Sälengodset accommodates 9 in separate rooms, Fjällgodset 10 and Gattarstugan 11, all with large dining tables and a sauna. Winebunker offers 3 bedrooms and an event room for 50 people when management need to make a presentation to the whole company. The entire house is yours, with no other guests – that’s what we mean by privacy. Price for a short week (Sunday–Thursday) in low season: Stenlodgen 21,250 SEK, Sälengodset 25,500 SEK, Skiers Lodge 45,100 SEK; in winter 38,750, 40,500 and 56,100 SEK respectively. Villa Åsstigen is sold on a weekly basis, 26,340 SEK in low season.
Step 3 – logistics, technology and meals
Confirm the dates, book the venue and check the internet connection in advance: Wi-Fi is available in the houses, along with large TV screens for presentations – Sälengodset, a 98-inch model – but you’ll need to bring your own projector, whiteboard and conference phone, and mobile broadband is your backup should the connection fail. A quiet bedroom serves as a space for digital participants and one-to-one meetings. Meals: breakfast delivery and a working lunch save time, whilst a chef in the evening raises the standard – both arranged through our partners, subject to a quote, with special dietary requirements ordered in advance. Provide coffee and snacks in the meeting area. The journey: five to six hours by car from Stockholm, three to four from Oslo; a 20-minute flight to Scandinavian Mountains Airport from the houses.

Scandinavian Mountains Airport is just 20 minutes from our mountain chalets and offers direct flights from Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and international destinations during the season. The airport is specifically designed to cater for business travellers, with efficient check-in and baggage handling.
Comfortable journey by car or bus
For groups who prefer to travel together by car or minibus, Sälen is easily accessible via well-maintained roads. The journey takes around 5–6 hours from Stockholm, around 6–7 hours from Gothenburg and around 3.5 hours from Oslo. All our properties have ample parking; charging points are available at Sälengodset and Fjällgodset, whilst Villa Åsstigen has its own charging solution where guests register an account and pay for usage.
Once you’re at Sälen, it’s easy to get between the cottage and any activities or restaurant visits. Local transport companies offer everything from minibuses to snowmobile transfers, depending on the season; we’ll let you know which ones to use. This allows you to focus entirely on your meeting without having to worry about the logistics.
