A classic mountain cabin has four to eight beds and a kitchen. Our mountain houses range from 260 to 360 square metres, with 8 to 10 bedrooms, 4 to 8 bathrooms, two or three kitchens and a private spa area. You really notice the difference when the whole group is eating, socialising and sleeping under the same roof.

Frequently asked questions about renting a holiday home in Sälen
When is the best time to book a holiday cottage in Sälen?
For the winter season (December-April), we recommend booking 8-12 months in advance, especially if you plan to travel during peak seasons such as Christmas, New Year or sports holidays. For the summer season (June-September), 4-6 months in advance is advisable. Our most exclusive ski in/ski out chalets are often booked up to a year in advance, so early booking is always recommended to secure your first choice of mountain chalet.
How close are your chalets to the ski slopes?
All our chalets are strategically located close to the Sälen ski areas. Sälengodset and Fjällgodset are a minute's drive to easy access lifts that take you to the ski slopes and lift systems. Olarslodgen is within a 5-minute walk of the nearest lift. The same goes for cross-country skiing. We also offer free ski storage and heated boot lockers for maximum convenience during your ski holiday.
What extra services can we add when we rent a holiday home?
We offer a wide range of optional extras to make your stay even more comfortable and memorable. Popular extras include access to our charging station for electric cars, possibility to rent bathrobes for spa and relaxation, and services such as early check-in, late check-out and extra cleaning.
Are the holiday homes suitable for families with children?
Absolutely! Our cottages are designed to suit families with children of all ages. We can provide cots and high chairs at no extra cost. Some of our cabins also have TV games.
How does booking and payment work?
Bookings can be made easily via our website or by contacting our bookings department directly. When booking, you pay 20% of the total amount as a booking fee, and the remaining amount will be invoiced prior to arrival. If you book close to your departure date, the full amount must be paid at the time of booking. We accept all major credit cards as well as bank transfers. Payment terms, cancellation policies and fees are set out in full in the booking terms and conditions for the property you are booking. We always recommend taking out cancellation insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances.
How to book a mountain cottage
- Select a property and a period when booking: a short week (Sunday–Thursday), a weekend (Thursday–Sunday) or a full week.
- Pay the booking fee when you make your booking. The full amount must be paid in full at least 90 days before arrival.
- Add optional extras such as cleaning, linen, a private chef and bulk shopping via the guest portal before your arrival.

Can we rent it for a weekend?
Yes, Thursday to Sunday, except during Christmas, New Year, the winter half-term and Vasaloppet week, when the cottages are booked on a full-week basis.
