Tips for a successful hybrid meeting

Creating a seamless hybrid experience starts with good planning. We recommend:

Before the meeting

  • Book accommodation and technology well in advance. Our cottages are popular for corporate events.
  • Adapt the organisation to the needs of your group. You may need several short sessions instead of full-day meetings.
  • Think about technology. We can help you with additional equipment such as microphones, screens or whiteboards.
  • Send clear instructions to both physical and digital participants.

During the meeting

  • Appoint a ”digital host” to ensure that remote participants feel included.
  • Plan joint activities that can be experienced both on site and digitally.
  • Take regular breaks - preferably outdoors for those on site.
  • Use digital collaboration tools that everyone can participate in no matter where they are.

”We rented both Sälengodset and Fjällgodset in March to bring together the team from our Swedish headquarters and our Indian subsidiary. The combination of the tranquillity of the mountain environment, the exclusive spaces and the ability to hold both workshops and hybrid meetings with clients worked beyond expectations. Everyone was inspired - this was far from an ordinary conference!”

Frequently asked questions about hybrid meetings in the mountains

How good is the internet connection in your holiday cottages?

Sälengodset and Fjällgodset have fibre connections with speeds of up to 100 Mbits. Our other cottages have at least stable 4G/5G coverage, which works excellently for video conferences. Always test the connection before your meetings to ensure that everything is working as it should.

What technical equipment do we need to take with us?

You need to bring your own computers. We provide monitors and speakers. If you need more advanced equipment such as professional microphones or cameras, it can be difficult to get hold of Sälen so it's best to bring it yourself.

How many people can attend a hybrid meeting at your organisation?

Our cabins can accommodate groups of up to 21 people on site. There is no limit to the number of people who can participate digitally, but we recommend that you think about how to create a good balance between physical and digital participants.

Can you help with food during the meeting?

We work with local suppliers who offer everything from breakfast and coffee to lunch and a three-course dinner - direct to your cottage. A popular highlight is booking a private chef to come to the property and prepare a tailor-made dinner for the group. Everything is customised according to your wishes, including special diets and allergies.

How far in advance do we need to book?

We recommend that you book at least 2-3 months in advance, especially during the high season. For larger groups or specific dates, it may be helpful to book even earlier. Please contact us to discuss availability for your preferred dates.
