- 24 October–1 November: Open during the autumn half-term at SkiStar – Experium Express: hiking, the Mountain Coaster, SummerSki and the climbing park are open daily; the water park is open every day from 26 October to 1 November.
- 3–6 December: The ski-testing weekend at Gustavtorget in Lindvallen; the lifts at Lindvallen open on 4 December.
- 10–13 December: Stöten Grand Opening, start of the season on 10 December.
- 11–13 December: Kläppen’s alpine debut with the Gondola and Sälen’s tenth anniversary; Högfjället, Tandådalen and Hundfjället open on 11 December.
- Weeks 51–9 (up to 7 March): Magic Mountain at Valleberget every evening from 5 pm to 6 pm.
- 9–31 January 2027: Valle’s family weeks in Sälen.
- 26 February–7 March 2027: Vasaloppet’s winter week – Vasaloppet 30 on 26 February, Girls’ vasan on 27 February, Open Track on 28 February and 1 March, Relayvasan and Nightvasan on 5 March, Vasaloppet on Sunday 7 March, starting at Berga by.
- 20 March–4 April 2027: Easter at Sälen; the Easter party at Tandådalen’s Wärdshus, 26–28 March.
- 15–18 April 2027: Ski & Rock at the Högfjällshotellet, the season finale.
- 19 June 2027: The Women’s Mile Sälen, 5 or 10 km from the top of Lindvallen.
- 13–14 August 2027: Cykelvasan – Open Track, Cykelvasan 30 and 45 on Friday, Cykelvasan 90 on Saturday, 92 km Sälen–Mora.
- 21 August 2027: Ultravasan 90 and 45, Trailvasan 30 and the Vasastafetten. The Fjällmaraton Sälen takes place in August; the date for 2027 had not been published at the time of writing.
Highlights of the 2026/27 winter season
The winter season begins with the Ski Test Weekend and the opening events in December; Magic Mountain runs every evening from week 51 and culminates in Vasalopp Week in late February and early March, when Berga by in Sälen marks the start of the Open Trail, Stafettvasan, Nattvasan 90 and Vasaloppet. Easter 2027 falls early, from 20 March to 4 April, with the Easter Party at Wärdshuset, and the season ends with Ski & Rock from 15 to 18 April and Lindvallen’s final day of lift operations on 18 April.
Highlights of summer 2027
The summer season opens on 5 June with the Trail Park and climbing park; the lifts will be operating for cyclists and walkers from mid-June. The Tjejmilen Sälen on 19 June 2027 starts at the top of Lindvallen, Cykelvasan will host Berga by on 13–14 August, followed by Running Week featuring the Ultravasan and the Vasastafetten on 21 August. The Fjällmaraton Sälen, featuring 42, 21 and 10-kilometre races and finishing at Experium Square, takes place at the end of August.
Autumn highlights
Autumn is the quietest time of year: Kläppen’s autumn park opens for skiing on stored snow from the start of October, the golf course is open until 10 October, and the autumn half-term holiday from 24 October to 1 November is the season’s only peak period, with Experium open every day and the autumn market at Kläppen at its opening in December as the next highlight. Ski & Rock
Ski & Rock Sälen 2027 will take place on 15–18 April at Högfjällshotellet (18+), featuring two outdoor stages and a Freeride Show; the first artist announced is E-Type. Dates, accommodation and transport: Ski & Rock Sälen. Live nearby: Vacant mountain chalets in Sälen.
Winter events in Sälen
Winter in Sälen is the peak season for events that attract visitors from all over the world. As the snow settles over the mountains, the area is transformed into a vibrant meeting place for sports enthusiasts and pleasure seekers alike. Vasaloppet - start in Berga by
The Vasaloppet is not only the world's oldest, longest and largest long-distance ski race - it is an institution in Swedish sporting history. Every March, thousands of skiers gather in the Berga by to begin the 90 kilometre journey to Mora. The start is a spectacle in itself, with an electric atmosphere as the mass start field heads for the first control.

Vasa relays
