There is no »best« – there is simply the right season for the right company. Here is our recommendation for each type of traveller; a table comparing all four seasons can be found in Sälen all year round.
A family with school-age children
The winter half-term or Easter – it’s the half-term that counts. If you want fewer people on the slopes: week 7 or 10 instead of 8 and 9, which are the busiest – sports holidays in Sälen. Winter has more to offer than just the slopes: Scooter safari, Dog sledding, Guided nature experiences and Spas and water parks.
A family with young children
The week after Epiphany or March: empty children’s slopes, ski schools with no queues, and March is the driest month of the year. Sälens ski resorts has children’s play areas in all four villages – Sälen with children.
