Sports holidays are the high season in Sälen. The slopes fill up, the restaurants are buzzing, and chalets near the lifts book up quickly. It's a magical time for families to ski together.
But it also poses a challenge. Finding the right accommodation during week 7, 8 or 9 requires planning. The best locations disappear early. Small cottages become too cramped. Poorly located accommodation creates unnecessary stress.
The winter half-term is the week when most families want to come to Sälen – and the week when having a whole house to yourselves makes the biggest difference: breakfast whenever you like, your skis in the storage room, a sauna once the children have gone to sleep. We rent out entire mountain chalets for 8–24 guests during weeks 7–10, from 15 February to 14 March 2027. Price for a week’s winter sports holiday
The winter holiday weeks fall within the houses’ regular winter season, so weeks 7–10 cost the same; only The Skiers Lodge has its own winter holiday rate. Prices for the holiday homes in 2027, whole house; final cleaning, bed linen and towels are included, and the price shown is all you pay.

During the school holiday weeks, the cottages are primarily sold on a full-week basis; short weeks and weekends are available where the calendar permits. Is your preferred week fully booked? Weeks 7 and 10 usually still have cottages available and the same snow conditions. Close to the ski lifts and the ski school
- The Skiers Lodge, Lindvallen – ski-in, ski-out: you can head straight out onto the slopes from the house.
- Stenlodgen, Sälfjällstorget – next door to Olarslodgen, with restaurants just round the corner.
- Olarslodgen, Sälfjällstorget – within walking distance of ski lifts, restaurants and nightlife.
- Gattarstugan, Tandådalen – within walking distance of the Tandådalen ski slopes.
- Sälengodset, Fjällgodset, Winebunker and Sälfjällstangen – south-facing, overlooking Högfjällsbacken; access to the ski lifts by car or ski bus.
- Villa Åsstigen, Tandådalen – the cross-country ski trail right outside the door, the ski bus a couple of hundred metres away, a five-minute drive to Tandådalen and Hundfjället.

What’s included
The whole house, including all bedrooms, bed linen and towels, a starter pack for the kitchen and bathroom, end-of-stay cleaning and digital check-in with access codes. A sauna in most houses and a hot tub where the house has one – holiday cottage with spa facilities; locked ski storage in Sälengodset, Fjällgodset, Olarslodgen and Stenlodgen; firewood for the stove in Gattarstugan, Stenlodgen and Villa Åsstigen. Optional extras: made-up beds, late check-out at 12.00, breakfast delivery, private chef, catering – optional. Dogs are welcome in Sälengodset, Olarslodgen and Gattarstugan.

The sports holiday isn’t the only peak week of the winter. Accommodation in Sälen over Christmas and accommodation in Sälen over the New Year are often the first to be booked.
