The area
Tandådalen - a complete mountain area with character
Tandådalen is the heart of Sälenfjällen and has developed into a complete ski area that offers something for everyone. With its unique location between Hundfjället and Högfjället, the area creates a natural hub in Sälenfjällen, where modern lift facilities and well-groomed slopes meet traditional mountain environments.
Slopes and lifts for all levels
The ski area in Tandådalen consists of two distinct parts that complement each other perfectly. The eastern side attracts with wide, blue and red carving slopes - perfect for those who want to enjoy long, sweeping turns at a leisurely pace. Here you'll also find Sälen's largest Snow Park, a paradise for freestyle skiers. Central Tandådalen offers more challenging skiing with several black runs, including the popular Solliften, known for its technically demanding sections.
With Östra Tandådalen’s wide carving slopes and the steeper runs at Tandådalstorget, Tandådalen offers a variety of terrain suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers. The area is particularly renowned for its reliable snow cover, with the 2026/27 winter season running from 11 December to 11 April. A modern snow-making system ensures excellent conditions even during periods of low natural snowfall.
Child-friendly with Valle's ski country
For the youngest visitors, there are two Valle ski areas in Tandådalen. At Tandådalstorget you'll find a complete children's area with button lifts, covered conveyor belts and several child-friendly slopes with fun Valle figures. In Östra Tandådalen there's another Valle ski area with a ski carousel, conveyor belts and button lifts - all designed to give the little ones a safe and fun introduction to the world of skiing.

Tandådalen versus Lindvallen
Tandådalen and Lindvallen are two separate lift systems: Tandådalen is connected to Hundfjället via the connecting lifts, whilst Lindvallen is connected to Högfjället via the transport lifts; to travel between the two, you can take the Skid & Bad bus or drive, a journey of 13–16 kilometres taking around a quarter of an hour. Tandådalen features Sälen’s largest Snow Park in Eastern Tandådalen and the steeper slopes at Solliften; Lindvallen is Sälen’s largest area, comprising Experium, Magic Mountain and one of Europe’s largest children’s areas. Evening skiing until 18.00 on selected lifts: Tandådalen on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 20 December, Lindvallen every day. 2026/27 season: Tandådalen 11 December–11 April, Lindvallen 4 December–18 April. World-class skiing
Tandådalen offers a diverse skiing experience for all ages and levels. The area is particularly appreciated for its variety - there is everything from wide, quiet family slopes to challenging black slopes for the experienced skier. Through the transport lift to Hundfjället in Sälen the ski area is further extended, giving you access to over 50 slopes with a single SkiPass.

Our house at Tandådalen is Gattarstugan on Gattarstigen: the whole house sleeps 24 guests and features a large living room, a wood-fired sauna and an outdoor hot tub; it is within walking distance of the slopes at Tandådalen and 300 metres from the nearest supermarket. Villa Åsstigen, which sleeps 12 guests, is a five-minute drive from Tandådalen and Hundfjället, with the MOGG trails right on the doorstep.
