Lindvallen is Sälen’s largest ski area and the hub of Sälenfjällen: three chairlifts, four squares, Experium and one of Europe’s largest children’s play areas. The ski resort
The slopes and the ski lifts
Lindvallen is served by three chairlifts: Gustav Express, an eight-seater chairlift from Gustavtorget and the area’s main lift; Experium Express from Experiumtorget; and Söderåsen Express, new in 2023, where the black runs Adam and Pernilla are located. Green, blue and red runs predominate; the entire Sälen area has 105 lifts and 101 runs, with a shared SkiPass. A series of transport lifts runs to Högfjället, so both areas can be skied on the same day; to reach Tandådalen and Hundfjället, take the Skid & Bad bus or drive. The 2026/27 season runs from 4 December to 18 April. The lifts operate from 09.00 to 15.30 until 5 February and from 09.00 to 16.30 thereafter; from 20 December, selected lifts run until 18.00 every day of the week – a feature unique to Lindvallen amongst the four resorts. Magic Mountain illuminates Valleberget every evening from 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm, from week 51 until 7 March. New for winter 2026/27: the Ulla and Johan areas will be merged into a single, connected slope, up to 160 metres wide, with floodlights. The parks: SkiStar Snow Park Lindvallen, a smaller park on slope 15 Jullan, and Fun Ride next to the Gustav Express. The cross-country trails cover 23 kilometres across six loops, plus the 6-kilometre Toppspåret, which is always free.
Sälfjällstorget and service
Lindvallen is built around four squares: Söderåstorget, Experiumtorget, Gustavtorget and Sälfjällstorget. At Experiumtorget is Experium, featuring a water park, indoor surfing, a spa, a gym, a bowling alley, a cinema and a children’s play area, whilst outside Valleberget is the children’s area with button lifts, a moving walkway, a toboggan run and Magic Mountain. Sälfjällstorget has its own children’s area with a ski school and the restaurants Pinchos, Restaurang Winter with the Winter Lounge Bar at Hotel Bügelhof, Torgkrogen, Viktors and Bedits Kaffe & Kök. Stay at Lindvallen
At Sälfjällstorget, you’ll find Olarslodgen, which sleeps 21 guests, approximately 300 metres from the nearest ski lift, and Stenlodgen, which sleeps 15 guests, next door to Olarslodgen at Sälfjällstorget. The Skiers Lodge, which sleeps 8 guests, is our only house with ski-in/ski-out access, directly from the house. Sälengodset and Fjällgodset, accommodating 21 and 22 guests respectively, are situated at Gamla Sälfjällstangen between Lindvallen and Högfjället, facing south with views over the Högfjällsbacken slope. Lindvallen versus Tandådalen and Hundfjället
Tandådalen and Hundfjället are part of a separate lift system 13–17 kilometres away, a quarter of an hour to twenty minutes by car or ski bus. Tandådalen boasts Sälen’s largest Snow Park and the steeper slopes at Solliften, Hundfjället, Trollskogen and Väggen; Lindvallen offers variety, excellent service and evening skiing every day. What to do in Lindvallen?
